Our Trip out East – Part 1 of 2. Aunt Ora’s House in Ottawa, ON.
We took at trip out East to visit Ora and Greg in Ottawa and Mike, Judy, and Emily in the Boston area.
Last Tuesday we flew Air Canada from Seattle to Ottawa with a layover in Toronto. We were glad to finally reach our destination but even more excited to see Ora. Our flight was late but it didn’t matter because she already had dinner, drinks, a high chair, and a pack and play ready for us!
Ora and Greg being generous hosts broke out a bottle of 1998 Dom Perignon. Here’s a photo of Marshall getting his first look at a bottle of vintage Dom. Over the next couple of days we hung out at Ora and Greg’s newly renovated home.
We went up to Gatineau, Quebec to see the marvelous view of the plains and had lunch at a French Canadian vegetarian restaurant.
We went to several markets to buy strawberries and blueberries, two of Marshall’s favourite fruits. He’s shown here at the Parkdale Market eating blueberries out of Marc’s hand.
Ora’s friends, Kiran and Gunther, kindly offered to watch Marshall one night so that we could go out to dinner with Ora and Greg. He liked them so much that he didn’t want them to leave!
We also went to the Parliament grounds and the Royal Canadian Mint to see the Canadian Gold collector coins being produced.
Here are some photos of us having fun at the playground near Ora’s house.
Last Saturday, we all piled into her car and drove 9 hours south through New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire to arrive in Massachusetts. Ora and Greg then said good bye as we arrived at Grandpa’s house. They went to Canton, MA to stay with Greg’s aunt for a few days before driving back north.
