Chocolate or Vanilla?
We grilled some fig and proscuitto pizza last night and invited Dana over for dinner to enjoy the brief season of fresh figs from our front yard. She brought over a wonderful Chianti, a funny trailer park story, and a pint of chocolate gelato. Marshall barely ate his dinner but managed to snarf down an entire nectarine. Later as I got ready to bring out dessert, he did the “excited” dance as I grabbed bowls, spoons, and an ice cream scooper. He got as much gelato as we all did and he managed to finish it faster too.
BTW, earlier today I asked Marc if he thought Marshall would prefer a vanilla or chocolate cake for his birthday. We both thought it was difficult to tell at this point and tabled the topic. Suffice it to say that we’ve given him vanilla ice cream many times before but we’ve never seen him clean up like he did below. I think the answer to the chocolate vs vanilla question is obvious.
After finishing his gelato Marshall tipped the bowl into his mouth and attempted to remove every last drop of melted chocolate. I think he was trying to lick the bottom of the bowl in the photo to the right.
As he finished working on the bowl I gave him the empty gelato container to work on. We were dying of laughter by now.
By this time Dana wisely excused herself for the evening seeing the mess that would have to be cleaned up. Love that demi-chocolate moustache Marshall!
