Thanksgiving Day Fun

We were graciously invited to Kevin and Van’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.  The invitation was extended to everyone, especially the dogs.  I made two pies and stuffing to bring over for the occasion.  It took several trips to pack everything and everyone into the car (booster seat, food, toddler gear, Faye, Bella, dog blanket, Marshall, Marshall’s toy bag…) but once we made it into the car we were on our way.  The trip to the outer reaches of Redmond only took 22 minutes and I wasn’t even speeding that much.  We unloaded the car and Teddy and Fu came running out the door to greet us.  Fu was so enthused that he headed straight for Marshall and knocked him flat on the ground and started licking his face.

We went inside and watched Van cook up a storm.  She dished out hot crab dip, a cheese platter, turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans/asparagus, pot roast (!), and the list goes on.  We had great wines and the kicker was the Jones Soda bottles with Teddy and Fu’s photo on them.

Trees and Meenos

dsc_8531_blog.jpg  This may very well be the only 2 year old to eat only the broccoli on a plate full of BBQ chicken and beans with loaded baked potato.  You’re probably wondering what the trick or bribe is for him to do this (look at the pile of de-topped broccoli stems on his plate – that tree in his hand is the last of the bunch).  I will admit to you that he only eats the broccoli in such robust fashion because of the meenos.  Bragg’s Amino Acids silly!  It’s a healty tamari alternative and that’s Marshall’s way of asking for Aminos – “Meenos!”.
