The Idyllic Life
We spent part of Saturday touring two farms near Woodinville: Barn Place/Red Barn Farm and 21 Acres. King County had a fall farm tour, part of a “Meet your farmer/eat local” event that they promote every year.
As soon as the car stopped and we unstrapped Marshall from his car seat, he tore off to admire the chickens that were pecking about the barnyard at Barn Place.
Here he is fresh out of the car, already looking very much at home on the farm. He kept a respected distance from the chickens as he intently watched them.
Marshall and Marc admiring the Silkies. I thought it was interesting that they had white feathers. I’ve only ever seen Silkies in the Asian grocery stores with their black skin underneath shrink wrap in the refrigerator :^(
Marshall had just touched this sheep’s snout. Awwwww…
“Young Little Marshall had a farm, Ee i ee i yo!”
Upon closer inspection we see that this farmer’s having a grand ole time on his tractor.
The only thing missing on this is a horn.
He had such fun sitting on this rusting machine. It was very unpleasant when it was time to go; he did not want to get off the tractor.
The kid hanging out with the other kids.
Me and Marshall admiring the “mobile sheep grazing pasture”. It’s used to promote sustainable farming.
